Best open-world games for PC in 2016
A lot of people prefer playing open-worlds games as there's no better feeling then being completely free to do anything you want and explore every inch of a vast fictional world. Over the years, we've had some really awesome open-world titles that I really enjoyed playing like Gothic, The Elder Scrolls or Risen and since the genre is thriving, I've decided to show you some of the best open-world games that have been or will be launched in 2016.
No Man's Sky
Of course, I feel compelled to start with No Man's Sky as so far, it has been one of the most successful games to emerge on the market this year. In this awesome survival MMO you can explore a galaxy filled with many beautiful worlds, get acquainted with the vast wild life and be ready to take on the perils that could arrive any minute. What's really cool is that the game provides an infinite procedurally generated universe that allows you to move around from planet to planet without any loading screens, allowing you to completely immerse yourself in the game.
Tom Clancy's The Division
Another highly popular game, Tom Clancy's The Division is a treat for every fan of the third-person shooter genre. However, this game is online-only, so if you don't like playing with other people or you don't want to stay connected to the Internet while you play, you're going to have a problem. On the plus side, The Division features amazing graphics, some interesting RPG elements, great action and a well-written story.
7 Days to Die
You can't call yourself a true fan of the horror survival genre without having played 7 Days to Die. In this game's environment you will need to explore a vast open world and survive the hordes of zombies who are getting more aggressive with each passing day. Forage resources, board up your doors and windows and make your stand, but make sure that you always have an escape route.
Far Cry Primal
Although I didn't really like the first games from the Far Cry series, Primal has quickly become one of my favorite titles ever. This action-adventure game is set in prehistoric times, so the fauna and the scenery are absolutely breathtaking. However, don't be fooled by the image that I chose, this game isn't all about petting tigers and the harsh environment will punish you the moment you let your guard down.
Dying Light: The Following
Last on our list is actually an expansion to the well-known Dying Light title, one that adds a lot more content to the game and nearly doubles the size of the wold you're playing in. The Following uses the same script as the as the original game, so you can hunt zombies safely during the day, but when it's dark only your parkour moves have a chance of keeping you alive.
