Portable applications

Comparing Software Informer with FileHippo and Secunia, I could verify that it seems to give more information and less errors.
There's a drawback, though - it sees only programs under "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)".

What about portable programs?
For me they are in "Progs".

Is there a way to add a programs folder (since there's no provision for that in Settings)?

How to disable a particular app update notification?

I'm using SI version 1.5.1321. Is there any way to disable the update notification for a specific app in the SI client? I seem to remember having that ability in the earlier version. By "disable", I mean simply NOT showing up in the client list window at the top when it does it's query for updates.

DownLoad - Thumb Studio - software

First, I'm a newbie so be kind. I would like to download software "Thumb Studio" as I found at: http://software.informer.com/search/gallery+creator. But try as I might I can not find the download button for this software. Everything I click on tries to download some different software which I do not want nor need. Any help as to how I find the download page for "Thumb Studio" would be appreciated, THANKS.

Software Informer stuck on startup

Hello,

I just installed Software Informer on two of my laptops. On both, the client gets stuck at the startup screen where the letters get filled in, right at the last piece of the r.

It happened in both Windows 7 and now in Windows 8.1. The two machines differ greatly:
Main laptop:
CPU: i5 4200U
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit fully updated

Old laptop:
CPU: Core 2 Duo T8100
RAM: 2GB
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit with some updates left

All other specs should be irrelevant.
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance!

Software informer hangs on startup

Hi all,

I have installed software informer. When I start the program the green bar goes 25% of the way and stays like that. I can only close the program using the Task Manager. I have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate and a Core i7. What could be the problem? I installed it on another machine and it works fine.

Detecting of non-installed software

Hello!

I wonder if it would be feasible to detect software deployed not as a standard installation, but rather as files placed on disk.
I tend to use this kind of installation if only it is provided by software authors (fe. Ant Movie Catalog or VLC Media Player) to keep system cleaner.

This feature would require of course pointing SI to a path where software is located.

I think it would be useful in siClient to have an option to block major version, ie. look for updates only to blocked version.
Fe. I have Office 2007 and I am interested only in upgrades in 2007 line, not to Office 2010.

Hello, I have SIClient awhile, but, some days he can not connect to server. I says to check the firewall, checked it, but still does not connect to the server and checks for updates. I really like the program to check for updates. The error code is 12029. What do I do?

I am totally thrilled to use Software Informer. It didn't install it's self, I installed it myself. As far as privacy goes, you can make it private or public, the same as face-book or any other program. Anyone that gets frustrated because they don't take the time to learn how to use it, will also call it crap. I like to try all kinds of software, and Software Informer is one of the great one's.
