Topic: outlook express pictures smaller

I have windows XP Home and always use Outlook Express 6 for emails. Before I downloaded a recent Windows or HP update I could click on an image in MY PICTURES, then click on EMAIL THIS FILE then click on MAKE ALL MY PICTURES SMALLER and end up with an Outlook Express email format to send. Since the download I have problems starting after the MAKE ALL MY PICTURES SMALLER step. Instead of the usual Outlook Express format I get a different Microsoft Office Outlook email format which I don’t like and don’t want. Even if I try to send the email in this unwanted format I run into all kinds of difficulties.

I still use Outlook Express every day but this is my only problem with it. I can get around it by simply attaching the image to an email instead of trying the smaller image route but then I get complaints because my emailed images are so very large. Apparently, the download screwed up something so that my computer switches over to the Microsoft Office Outlook email instead of staying in Outlook Express email when I try the steps above. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to solve the problem but have not succeeded so I thought I had better ask for help from people with more computer experience than I have. Please help. Thank you.
