Upload photos from Windows 10 to Instagram
Most of you probably already know that Instagram is a service that focuses on mobile users, but it can still be accessed from a Windows 10 PC. However, there's one big problem: if you use it from a computer, you won't be able to upload any photos because there's no option for you to do so. Luckily, there is a workaround that doesn't require too much effort, so in case you're interested, here's how you can upload photos from Windows 10 to Instagram.
Since there's no button or direct way to upload photos from your PC, you're going to need to use a third-party client. I've read about several applications that presumably offer this functionality, but so far, the only one that actually worked for me was InstaPic. Instagram isn't really a fan of third-party applications that track its users and could even compromise the service's security, so last year, it started cracking down on them and severely restricting the access to its API. The fact that InstaPic still seems to have access to the service's API, makes me think that Instagram isn't only aware of its existence, but that it also accepts the tool.
InstaPic is a free tool that can be found on the Windows Marketplace, so all you really need to use it are a Microsoft account and a webcam. The first thing that you need to do is to download the application and run it on your PC, then create a new account (all it will require is an email address) and link it to your Instagram credentials. Next, in the upper right corner you will see an Instagram Direct button, which allows you to send photos to specific people and well as a shutter icon; just click that icon and a new window with your computer's camera will open up.
From there you can either click the big round button to take a picture with your camera or use the photograph icon to its left to upload an image from your computer. After you take a photo or select one, you will be automatically taken to the image editor that offers pretty much the same options that you have on the mobile version of Instagram, but considerably fewer filters. Once you're done processing the image, all that's left to do is to click the arrow from the top-right corner to bring up the sharing menu which will let you add captions, tag people and share the image to other services such as Facebook, Tumblr, Flickr, Twitter, etc.
Before we end things, I should also tell you that while InstaPic is the best choice available for uploading pictures on Instagram from a computer, it's not a great Instagram client. The notifications don't really work and the application can be quite unresponsive when you're trying to see other people's timelines, so I recommend using it strictly for its photos' uploading capabilities.
