Get the Creators Update for your Windows 10

As we've recently told you, the next major Windows 10 update also known as the Creators Update will officially arrive April 11 and it's bringing with it some really great new features. However, the update has to roll out to hundreds of millions of users, so you may need to wait an additional couple of weeks until it finally reaches your PC. Here, you will find out how not to wait around and what to do to ensure that you get the Creators Update for your Windows 10 as soon as possible.

If you're really that impatient to try out the latest major update, you can install it right now, but be warned: at the moment the Creators Update is still in beta, so you should expect running into a few bugs while using it. In case it takes more than a few glitches to scare you, what you need to do is to join the Insider Program and Microsoft will allow you to be one of those who get to test out the latest Windows features and updates, before everybody else. Once you've done that, click the Start Menu and open the Windows Settings. Now, go to Update & Security, then click on the Windows Insider Program, which should be the last option from the left-side pane and press the Get Started button.

In case you don't want to risk installing a Windows update that's still in beta on your PC, you're going to have to wait until April 11 when the Creators Update becomes officially available. However, as I previously told you, even once that happens it may still be a while until the operating system will update automatically, so if you're not the patient kind, you're going to have to manually trigger it. The easiest way to do this is to open the Start Menu, then go to Settings --> Update & Security and in the Windows Update section (the one that it automatically opens into), you will see a Check for Updates button. Click on it, then wait for the update to install, reboot your PC and the Creators Update will be installed.

If this doesn't work, it's also very likely that Microsoft will allow its customers to manually download the Creators Update directly from its website. Even though the IT giant didn't make any official comments on the matter, the update will most likely be available on the Windows 10 download page. All you're going to need to do is to click on the link provided and, right at the top of the page, you will see the Update section with a big Update Now button. Press it, then follow the steps to install the Creators Update.

As far as I'm concerned, the Creators Update will be a pretty huge thing once it lands on our computers and I can't wait to see it. However, I'm actually more interested in playing around with some of the more subtle tweaks that are coming to Windows 10, then trying out the more popular features such as 3D Paint or the Beam streaming service.
