Topic: Cimaware OfficeFIX not detected

I've installed your siclient and it doesn't detect the installed application Cimaware OfficeFIX. I can confirm that the software Cimaware OfficeFIX is installed but it's not detected nor displayed in the list of installed software.

The point is that there are thousand of installations during the latest 10 years and it's not present in your listings except for a few obsolete installations.

I'm trying to find out what makes our Software to not being detected. I've check the Windows registry and everything seems to be ok. The software uses HKEY_CURRENT_USER instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. However other of our applications, DeleteFIX Photo, also uses this registry location and it's properly detected by siclient.

Looking at the program data folder of your Informer client in my testings I can see an entry for OfficeFIX in the file ukey.xml , however the program is not in the installed software list.

If you want to try it, you can download the software here: http://www.cimaware.com/main/products/officefix-download.php . Install it and check how it isn't detected at all.

I reported this a year ago but unfortunately the issue is still there.

Any help would be truly appreciate. Thanks.

A clean and tidy computer is one of the best ways to avoid problems with Cimaware OfficeFIX 6. This means performing malware scans, cleaning your hard disk with cleanmgr and sfc /scannow, uninstalling programs you no longer need, monitoring any auto-start programs (with msconfig), and enabling automatic Windows updates. Don't forget to always make regular backups or at least define recovery points.

If you have a bigger problem, try to remember the last thing you did or the last thing you installed before the problem. Use the resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even in case of serious problems, instead of reinstalling Windows, you should try to repair your installation or, in the case of Windows 8, by executing the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth. This allows you to repair the operating system without data loss.


To help you analyze the officefix.exe process on your computer, you may find the following programs useful: Security Task Manager displays all Windows tasks running, including built-in hidden processes such as keyboard and browser monitoring or auto-start entries. A single security risk rating indicates the probability that it is spyware, malware or a potential Trojan horse. This anti-virus detects and removes spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard disk.
