Microsoft Edge has become the second most popular browser
Microsoft Edge has become the second most popular desktop browser after Google Chrome worldwide. According to the chart data provided by web traffic analysis website StatCounter, Microsoft Edge has beaten Apple's Safari, with a 10.07 percent market share in April 2022. Safari stands at 9.61 percent, while Google Chrome once again dominates the market with a huge 66.64 percent share. The fourth and fifth positions are taken by Mozilla's Firefox browser and Opera, respectively.
As the default Windows 11 and Windows 11 browser, Microsoft Edge was poised to take the second place. Even though most of the top five browsers seem to have held their positions pretty solidly over the past year, there are still slight changes. Microsoft Edge has managed to improve from a 7.96 percent market share in April 2021, while Mozilla Firefox has recently seen a slight drop from 9.47% in February to 7.57% in March, despite regular updates and performance improvements.
